Tipping Off: After toppling No. 2 Houston in its last outing, Iowa State looks to stay unbeaten in Hilton Coliseum as Oklahoma State comes to town for a sold-out Saturday matinee.
The Cyclones and Cowboys will face off for the 140th time this weekend, as Oklahoma State holds the all-time advantage – 72-67. OSU has won seven of the last ten meetings and has taken the last three matchups in Ames.
The game, initially scheduled for 5 p.m., was delayed to 6 p.m. and then delayed again until 7:15 as of 3:15 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
Storylines:p.m.
- Tamin Lipsey continues to make steady improvement for Iowa State, as the former Little Cyclone is averaging a team-best 14.7 points per game. He leads the team in field goals made (76), rebounds (86), assists (86), steals (49) and minutes played.
- Lipsey set the school record for steals against PVAMU, picking the Panthers' pockets eight times.
- The previous record, seven, was held by Fred Hoiberg and Justus Thigpen.
- Against DePaul, Lipsey recorded the seventh triple-double in school history, going for 15 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds.
- Lipsey became the first Cyclone since Tyrese Haliburton in 2020 to record a triple-double.
- UNLV transfer Keshon Gilbert has found his groove for the Cyclones, as the junior from St. Louis is second on the team in points scored, averaging 13.4 per game.
- Gilbert recorded a triple-double against New Hampshire, going for 10 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
- His triple-double – the eighth in school history – puts him with Lipsey, Haliburton, Monté Morris, Royce White, Jamaal Tinsley, Curtis Stinson and Marc Urquhart as members of the illustrious club.

- Momcilovic has a team-high 31 3-pointers and shoots it at a 41.3% clip.
- He is one of five Cyclones to score at least 20 in a game this season.
- Momcilovic is averaging the most points per game by an ISU true freshman since Lindell Wigginton's 16.7 in 2017-18.
- He is the second-highest-scoring true freshman in the Big 12, behind Baylor's Ja'Kobe Walter.
- In his last outing against No. 2 Houston, Momcilovic was the hero as he scored the final four points for ISU – including a tough baseline turnaround jumper to give the Cyclones a late lead.
- Hason Ward has returned to action after missing nine games with an injury and leads the team in field goal percentage, shooting 70 percent.
- Robert Jones has taken over the starting five after filling in for Ward and keeping the spot after his return.
- Jones leads the team in offensive rebounds and blocks.
- Tre King is one of four Cyclones averaging double-figures, as the senior chips in 10.0 points per contest.

- As of Friday, the Cyclones are ranked No. 10 in the NET. The Cyclones slot in at No. 15 in the KenPom rankings and are No. 7 in ESPN's Basketball Power Index.
- The Cyclones went 6-0 in the month of December, as Iowa State improved to 16-1 in the month under T.J. Otzelberger. The 16 victories under Otz are tied for the 10th most in the nation in that span.

- The Cowboys were picked to finish tenth in the Big 12 Preseason Poll.
- Oklahoma State has seen five different players tally a double-double on the season, with both Quion Williams and Eric Dailey Jr. doing so twice.
- OSU returned seven players from last season, added five freshmen and welcomed four first-year transfers to the roster.
- Only three of the Cowboys' returning players are scholarship athletes. The Pokes brought in a talented freshman class which ranks as high as seventh but was consensus top 15.
- Among those freshmen is 2023 McDonald's All-American Brandon Garrison. Garrison currently is second in the Big 12 in blocks, tallying 28 in 15 contests.
- Omaha Biliew played with OSU's Brandon Garrison in last March's McDonald's All-American Game and Eric Dailey Jr. in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup over the summer where he was coached by Mike Boynton Jr.
- Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton Jr. is in his seventh season at the helm of the Cowboy basketball program. Boynton is 115-96 overall and has four winning seasons in Stillwater.
