AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State men's golf team will travel to Tucson, Arizona to open their spring season at the N.I.T. This two day tournament will begin with 36-holes on Monday, Jan. 29 and conclude with the final 18-holes on Tuesday, Jan. 30.Â
The Lineup (Alphabetically): Paul Beauvy, Luke Gutschewski, Zach May, Owen Sawyer, Dianchao Wu
The Course: The Catalina Course has a parkland style with eight lakes and 80 bunkers. The course's 18th hole is thought to be of the finest yet most challenging finishing holes of the PGA Tour. The course was designed by Robert Van Hagge and Bruce Devlin.Â
The Notes:Â
- The Cyclones won two tournaments in the month of September, the Iowa Fall Classic and the Zach Johnson Invitational.Â
- Luke Gutschewski won the Zach Johnson Invitational with a career three-round low (198) with all round scores in the 60s. Zach May (T3) and Paul Beauvy (T9) both joined him in the top ten.Â
- On the Cyclones' all-time career stroke average list, Gutschewski sits in first with a 71.57 scoring average.Â
- Zach May carded a career three-round low of 209 at the Zach Johnson Invitational.Â
