Tipping Off: Iowa State will welcome IU Indianapolis, formerly known as IUPUI, to Hilton on Monday evening in its final home contest before the gauntlet that is the Maui Invitational. The Jaguars and Cyclones will meet for just the second time, with both meetings coming in the last four seasons.
Iowa State will look to carry a three-game win streak into the Maui Invitational which features four top-ten programs. The Cyclones will continue to integrate their newcomers into the rotation, attempting to have things all buttoned up before Auburn. ISU will then play UNC or Dayton depending on the results of round one.
IU Indianapolis will play its second contest against a power conference opponent on Monday, having already matched up with Xavier on the road. The Jaguars will look to start a season 3-2 for the first time since 2018-19. The Jags will also attempt to win their first game against a power conference team since they bested Boston College in 2018.
Storylines:
- Iowa State took care of business last time out, handling Summit League preseason favorite Kansas City 82-56. The Cyclones buried 10 3-pointers against the Roos, marking the 11th time doing so under Otzelberger. The 10 triples are tied for the seventh-most in a game under Otz.
- Keshon Gilbert is tied for the team lead in points through two contests, averaging 13 points per game. Last time out, he recorded 10 assists, marking the second time he's had ten or more dimes as a Cyclone.
- Gilbert was the team's leading scorer in 2023-24.
- Gilbert was named the Big 12 Championship Most Outstanding Player last season and also earned recognition on both the All-Big 12 Second Team and All-Newcomer team.
- Sophomore wing Milan Momcilovic is tied with Gilbert for the team lead in scoring, as the Pewaukee native registered 16 against Kansas City.
- After coming off the bench in the opener, Momcilovic returned to the starting lineup on Monday against KC.
- Momcilovic earned All-Championship team accolades last year as well as All-Freshman Team recognition.
- Curtis Jones had a game-high 20 points against Kansas City on Monday, as he returned to his sixth-man role and flourished.
- Jones was one of the most dynamic sixth-men in the country last year, as he scored in double-figures in 17 of the final 19 games off the bench.
- Jones poured in 26 points against Illinois in the Sweet 16, a Cyclone-best for him.
- Tamin Lipsey continued to make the little plays and do the dirty work for the Cyclones, as the junior is averaging 12 points per game and leads the team in both blocks and steals.
- Lipsey was an AP Honorable Mention All-American last season, as well as a First Team All-Big 12 member and a member of the league's All-Defensive Team.
- He led the team in rebounds, assists and steals last season while being the team's second-highest scorer.
- Dishon Jackson tallied his first double-digit scoring performance last time out against KC, registering 11 points. Jackson leads the team in rebounds with six a game and averages 11 points.

- As a head coach, T.J. Otzelberger is 171-98 overall and has led the Cyclones to a 72-35 record over the last three seasons.
- Under Otz, ISU is 39-8 against non-conference opponents. The 39 wins are the seventh-most in the nation and the .830 winning percentage is the sixth-best.
- Iowa State has won 20-straight home games at Hilton Coliseum, tied for the fourth-longest active home winning streak in the country.
- Coach Otzelberger is the only Iowa State men's basketball coach to take multiple teams to the Sweet 16.
- Otz will attempt to become the first coach in program history to take a team to the NCAA Tournament in his first four years as coach.
- As of Friday, Nov. 15, ISU is ranked No. 7 by the Associated Press.
- ISU is also ranked No. 9 on ESPN's College Basketball BPI and in KenPom.
- Iowa State will play in its 54th season at Hilton Coliseum this year. The Cyclones won their 600th game in the building against Iowa last year.

Switching Sides:
- This will be the second all-time meeting between Iowa State and IU Indianapolis. The Cyclones lead the all-time series, 1-0, winning the only other game 88-39.
- That 49-point victory is the fourth-largest under Otzelberger.
- The Jaguars were picked to finish tenth out of 11 in the Horizon League Preseason Poll, voted on by the league's head coaches, SIDs and media members.
- IUI finished tenth in the Horizon League in 2023-24, owning a 2-18 conference record. New head coach Paul Corsaro was brought in from cross-city to help turn around the program, becoming the 11th head coach in program history.
- IU Indianapolis returned zero players from last year's roster, as all 16 players are newcomers. Five athletes followed Coach Corsaro from UIndy; five are incoming freshmen, and the other six are first-year transfers.
- The players who made the DII to DI jump with Coach Corsaro are Paul Zilinskas, Jarvis Walker, Sean Craig, Ajay Holubar and Julian Steinfeld.
- IU Indianapolis Head Coach Paul Corsaro is in his first year at the helm of the Jaguar program, where he is 2-2 four games into his tenure.
- Overall, Corsaro is 88-39 in his five-year head coaching career, which began with a four-year stop at UIndy (DII).
- Corsaro graduated from UIndy and took the team to back-to-back NCAA DII Tournaments and won consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) titles in his last two seasons.
- As of Friday, the Jaguars are No. 360 in KenPom and No. 357 in ESPN's Basketball Power Index.
