Adams Earns Second Big 12 Newcomer of the Week

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State freshman Noelle Adams has earned her second Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honor, the league announced Tuesday.

Adams, a Mesa, Ariz., native, recorded a pair of 9.9 scores on both beam and floor, as well as a 9.875 on vault. Adams now has eight 9.9 scores through five meets. Her 9.9 score on beam is a new career-high.

She becomes the fourth Iowa State gymnast to earn multiple Newcomer of the Week honors in a single season. She joins Michelle Shealy, Andrea Maldonado and Addy De Jesus as winners of multiple awards.

Noelle has claimed seven event titles this season, including two this past week. She took both the beam and floor crown against Nebraska, the vault title at PSU, both vault and floor high-marks against BYU, the floor medal against Illinois State and the beam championship at Boise State.

Iowa State will be back in action this Sunday, Feb. 11, as it travels to Denver for a tri-meet against conference foe Denver and SEMO. Sunday's action begins at 2:45 CT.
