AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State swimming and diving team (3-5, 0-2 Big 12) will host the Kansas Jayhawks (5-3, 0-0 Big 12) to end the 2023-24 regular season. The meet will be split across two days, starting on Friday, Feb. 9th at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. Senior Day will also take place on Saturday with the festivities starting at 9:30 a.m.Â
THE OPPONENT - Kansas
The Cyclones have had a tough series record against the Jayhawks with a 4-29 series record against the program. Iowa State suffered a 174-126 loss in Lawrence during the 2022-23 season. Among common opponents, Kansas had a 248-104 win against South Dakota, while suffering a 187-113 loss to Nebraska.Â
WHAT TO WATCH FOR - Team DivingÂ
Iowa State and Kansas will participate in the new team diving event in the Friday night session of the dual meet. Team diving includes the regular six dive scoring formula that occurs through every NCAA diving event. Each team will have one diver complete two dives from the 1-meter board, 3-meter board, and platform board to tally the official scores.Â
Team diving will be an event that is a part of the 2024 Big 12 Championships and Friday night will be a fantastic opportunity for both teams to get experience at the new event.Â
ON DECK - Big 12 ChampionshipsÂ
The Cyclones will travel to Morgantown, W. Va. to participate in the 2024 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships from Feb. 27-March 2 at the Mylan Aquatic Center.Â
All events will be streamed on Big 12 Now through ESPN+ and results will be posted on the Iowa State swimming and diving social media pages.Â
