Cyclones Conclude the Two-Day Colleton River Collegiate

BLUFFTON, S.C. - The Cyclones wrapped up the Colleton River Collegiate Tournament in 11 out of 14 place, with Georgia Southern bringing home first with a score of 832 (-32). The Cyclones finished with a score of 858 (-6) after three days.Â
The second round was suspended on Monday due to darkness so the second day began with the completion of the second round followed by the third and final round. Georgia Southern narrowly squeaked by No. 36 Chattanooga, who fell just two strokes behind, shooting a 276 in the final round.Â
Leading the Cyclones was junior Luke Gutschewski, who fired a four-under round to finish things off. Luke ended the tournament with a score of 207 (-9), getting him into the top ten finishing in a three-way tie for seventh. Freshman Owen Sawyer stayed out of trouble in the final round, picking up 15 pars in his final round. With a final score of 215 (-1), Sawyer found himself tied for 34Â to end the tournament.Â
Paul Beauvy and Dianchao Wu both finished tied for 60 with scores of 220. Beauvy carded a one-over round to end the tournament, while Wu was right behind him with a two-over round to end it. Zach May finished his tournament strong, carding a two-under round with a pair of 35's on the card. May's three birdies and an eagle in his final round helped him move up eight spots to finish in a tie for 68.
Hunter Johnson, playing as an individual, mirrored his first round, shooting the same score and finishing with a three-round total of 244.
The Cyclones will continue their spring season with the next in Houston, Texas at the All-American beginning with the first 36 holes on Monday, March 18.
