RETURN OF THE CHAMPIONS
The 2023 Big 12 Champions make their return to Kansas City to defend the title this week. Iowa State enters the tournament following a double bye to the quarterfinals. Despite losing over 77 percent of its scoring and over 67 percent of its rebounding from a season ago, Iowa State finished with 12 conference wins for the fourth time in the last six seasons. Last season, ISU defeated Baylor (74-63), Oklahoma (82-72) and Texas (61-51) for its fourth Big 12 title. The Cyclones previously won tournament titles in 2000 and 2001.
Emily Ryan and Nyamer Diew are the only Cyclones that return with Big 12 tournament experience. Diew was a key piece in ISU's semifinal win over Oklahoma, scoring 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting including four 3-pointers.

LAST TIME OUT
Iowa State finished the regular season on a four-game win streak following an 76-60 victory over Cincinnati on Senior Day. Audi Crooks and Hannah Belanger combined for 39 of ISU's 76 points. Crooks tallied 22 points for her 13th 20-point game and eclipsed 500 points this season. She became just the 12th Cyclone and the only freshman to score 500 points in a single season. Crooks also finished the day 9-of-10 from the floor, tying the fourth-highest freshman single-game field goal percentage (min. 7 attempts) in program history.
Belanger knocked down four 3-pointers as she totaled 17 points in her final game played in Hilton Coliseum. Emily Ryan passed out a game-high 12 assists while Crooks pulled down 10 rebounds for her seventh double-double this season. The Cyclones knocked down 12 3-pointers against the Bearcats while shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc.
