AMES, Iowa – 12 Iowa State gymnasts were named Scholastic All-Americans by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WGCA) on Wednesday, the organization announced. It is the fifth-straight season that the Cyclones have tallied double-digit selections.
Iowa State's 2024 recipients were: Loganne Basuel, Joise Bergstrom, Laura Cooke, Gracie Long, Hannah Loyim, Madelyn Manternach, Lauren O'Brochta, Ana Irene Palacios, Kaia Parker, Ella Schell, Lauren Thomas and Rachel Wilke.
Loganne Basuel was the lone Cyclone to notch a 4.0 GPA on the year, one of 292 gymnasts who did so. Laura Cooke raked in her fifth Scholastic All-American honor, achieving the feat every year of her college career. Gracie Long, Madelyn Manternach, Lauren O'Brochta and Ella Schell were all first-time recipients.
ISU's 12 recipients tied with Denver, while Oklahoma led the conference with 17 gymnasts receiving the honor.
Student-athletes must maintain a 3.50 or higher GPA during the academic year or cumulatively during their collegiate career to qualify for Scholastic All-America honors. 1,159 individuals earned Scholastic All-American status – the most ever recorded.
