Cyclones Finish Eighth at ANNIKA Intercollegiate

LAKE ELMO, Minn.- The Cyclones finish the ANNIKA Intercollegiate with a score of 290, leaving them with an eighth-place finish and a total of 874.

Three Cyclones shot an even par round today, with Pammy Chookaew taking the Cyclone's top spot on the leaderboard. Chookaew ended her tournament with just one round over par and finished tied for 16th with a 217 after shooting a final round 72 that included a pair of birdies.

Nichakorn Pinprayoon finished her first collegiate tournament with an even par round to put her tied for 30th with a 221. She led the Cyclones with five birdies on the round. Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn finished in a tie for 37th with a 223 after a final round 84 that included birdies on the seventh and 14th holes. Alexandra Vidal had a clean final round with an even par round. Vidal ended her first collegiate tournament in a tie for 49th with a 226 after a pair of birdies in the final round.

Keeley Marx rounded out the Cyclone lineup shooting her tournament-low round of 74 in the final round, putting her in a tie for 54th with a 229. She finished the day with three birdies.

The ANNIKA Intercollegiate Tournament winner was No. 4 South Carolina, shooting an 833 and winning by 27 strokes, as No. 10 Oregon finished in second with a total of 860.

Iowa State has finished in the top 10 of its season opening tournament for eight-straight years.

The Cyclones will next play in the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Okla. Sept. 21-23.
