Ames, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team wrapped up its three-day tournament in Palm Springs, California by winning six of eight matches against Arkansas on Saturday.
In doubles, Valeska San Martin Ramirez and Mari Paz Alberto Vilar defeated Lilitha Ndungane and Katarina Pavlechova, 7-6 (4). Gabriela Felix and Suzanie Pretorius also got in the win column by taking down Jimena Gomez Alonso and Katie Ferguson, 6-3.
In singles, four of five Cyclones were victorious. Julia Camblor knocked off Anet Koskel in dominating fashion, 6-0, 6-2. Alberto Vilar defeated Pavlechova, 6-2, 6-3, to secure a 3-0 singles record in the tournament.
Cristina Ramos Sierra downed the Razorbacks' Grace O'Donnell, 6-3, 6-3. Felix earned her second-straight singles win by beating Ndungane, 7-6 (1), 6-4.
