Tipping Off: After opening Big 12 play with a win on the road at Colorado, Iowa State will return to Hilton Coliseum to welcome the Baylor Bears for the home conference opener. On Saturday, Iowa State will honor two of the greatest teams in school history in the 1999-00 and 2000-01 teams. The Cyclones shocked the world 25 years ago with the first of back-to-back Big 12 regular-season titles, establishing a standard of excellence that Iowa State teams have strived to match.
Iowa State went undefeated in the month of December and will look to extend its eight-game winning streak to begin 2025. The Cyclones downed Colorado for the second time this season in their last contest. The ISU win in Boulder was the team's first at Colorado since March 3, 2005.
Baylor will be playing its sixth ranked opponent of the season on Saturday, having already squared off with one top 10 team this season. In its five games against ranked opponents, Baylor has scored an average of 73.6 points, while giving up an average of 83.8. The Bears are 2-3 in those games. The Bears defeated Utah in their Big 12 conference opener.
