AMES, Iowa - Iowa State (3-5, 0-1 Big 12) topped Simpson (1-3, 0-2 WIAC) Friday night at Hilton Coliseum as part of the Beauty and the Beast meet. ISU finished with 195.675, and Simpson with 186.300. Friday's score was a season-high for the Cyclones.
"What a great event. It was so fun, and I would love to do it again," Head Coach Ashley Miles Greig said. "Our team did great tonight; this is who we are as a team, and I think that you will see us just continue to grow from here."
The Cyclones showed up and showed out Friday evening at Beauty and the Beast in front of the largest crowd in program history – 9,470. Senior Rachel Wilke was the individual high scorer for the team, notching a 9.875 on floor. Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa was the event winner for vault and beam and also earned the all-around title. The Cyclones would claim every team and individual event title on the night.

Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa again led the Cyclones on vault this evening with a score of 9.850 – she's had the team's highest vault score in four of the five meets so far. Tonight was her second time scoring a 9.850 this season. Close behind was Frederique Sgarbossa, who earned a 9.825 for Iowa State – a personal best.
