The Opponents
ISU looks to end KSU's six-match series win streak that began Nov. 13, 2021. The last time ISU won in Manhattan was Sept. 25, 2020. The teams will meet for the 104th time in series history with the series the second longest for ISU behind KU. KSU's Shaylee Myers is the current conference leader averaging 4.98 kills per set.
The Cyclones and Jayhawks will meet for the 107th time, while Kansas has won the last three matchups. The last road win in the Kansas series for ISU came on Oct. 20, 2018, where the Cyclones swept No. 22 KU. This season Kansas has two ranked wins, and took three Top 10 teams to five sets. Half of KU's matches have been against ranked opponents.
Kansas is led by Matt Ulmer, one of three coaches new to the Big 12 this season, who spent the previous eight seasons as the head coach at Oregon guiding the Ducks to three Elite Eights and five Sweet 16s.
