STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 6 Iowa State women's cross country team ran to a third-place team finish at the 2025 NCAA Midwest Regional meet on Friday morning. The Cyclones were paced by three Top 10 individuals.
Betty Kipkore and Mercy Kibet paced Iowa State from start to finish, never falling outside of the top six the entirety of the race. Kipkore spent much of the race in third individually and finished in 19:53.2 in the same spot. Kibet followed in fifth with a time of 20:04.6. Both earned their first All-Midwest Region honors for their performances.
Senior Maelle Porcher, a two-time All-Midwest Region honoree, made her way through the ranks throughout the 6K. She passed the 1.1K check in 23rd before jumping 10 spots to 13th by 2K. By the 4K mark, she had gained another two spots to 11th before she made her final push to ninth at the finish line. The Mussidan, France native earned her third all-region honors with the performance.
Riley Beach, another Cyclone senior, and Maya Ledesma also had strong showings for ISU, each finishing in the Top 50. Beach finished 41st in 21:30.6 as Iowa State's fourth runner while Ledesma was 50th with a time of 21:41.5 in her Midwest Region debut. Ruby Hughes just missed the Top 50, finishing 53rd in 21:44.1 and Sydney Morrell rounded out the Cyclone squad in 96th with a time of 22:20.9.

Iowa State will wait on the NCAA Selection Subcommittee to make its final determinations for at-large team qualifiers for the national championship meet. Kipkore and Kibet are guaranteed to represent the Cyclones at the NCAA Championships in Columbia next week with their individual finishes in Stillwater.
