AMES, Iowa – Registration is now open for 2025 Cyclone Volleyball Camps and Spring Clinics. Registration can be completed online at this link.
Summer Camps begin with a one-day camp, Elite Camp, on June 12. This day camp is designed for athletes grade eight and higher with experience of playing high-level volleyball (club or high school volleyball). The camp will consist of mainly 6-on-6 drills, without a significant amount of individual skill instruction.
There is a one-day hitters camp on June 16, for grade 5-12. Campers will be instructed on footwork, arm swing and shot selection. As part of the hitter camp, there are 20 slots available for setters to come in and set live hitters for the final two hours of the camp.
Serving camps for grades 5-12 with two, two-hour offerings throughout the summer will be June 1 and July 9, with each taking place in the evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Campers will learn basic techniques and styles of serves. More advanced servers will work on serving zones, arm speed and strategies.
This year's edition of Junior Cyclone Camp will be from June 17-19. An introductory camp for students in grades 2-8 which takes place in the evenings, Junior Cyclone Camp focuses on teamwork and individual volleyball skills.
Setters and liberos will have their own camps, with each camp lasting one day. Libero camp will take place July 9 and focus on passing and defense in an effort to improve back row skills. Setter camp is on July 10 and focuses on hand position and footwork. These camps are open for grades five and up.
The All Skills Camp will be from July 15-17 for grades 8-12. The camp is divided up by position and includes individual drills based on position as well as competition and team-focused drills. This camp has resident and commuter options.
Spots are open for Iowa State's team camps. This year there will be two team camps that go for two days each: July 21-22 and July 23-24. Day one features competitive drills against another team, and day two has a tournament format. Teams will get the opportunity to get an inside look at the drills the Cyclones use with their own team.
Teams' coaches and players register separately. To hold your team's spot in a camp, you must have three players registered to your team by May 1. Questions regarding team camps should be sent to ISU Director of Volleyball Operations Michelle Aggen at maggen@iastate.edu or 515-294-9465.
