The Opponents
Two teams among the nation's best come to Hilton in No. 25 Colorado and Utah, who received votes in this week's AVCA Coaches Poll. Iowa State looks for the first win against Colorado since Nov. 16, 2010. Since then, the two teams have met three times. This season, Colorado ranks fifth nationally and leads the Big 12 averaging 2.97 blocks per set.
Iowa State won last year's meeting in a reverse sweep at No. 23 Utah. Utah is led by first-year head coach Alyssa D'Errico. Maya Duckworth, who earned AVCA All-Region and All-Big 12 honors playing for the Cyclones 2022-25, makes her return to Hilton as she is the Utes' technical coordinator. Among the rankings this season, Utah leads the nation in kills averaging 14.57 per set.
