AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team returns to Ames for its home opener this weekend as it takes on Wichita State and St. Thomas on back-to-back days. The Cyclones are looking to improve to 3-0 in home openers under head coach Jaron Maestas.

THE SERIES
Saturday will be the 10th all-time meeting between Iowa State and Wichita State, with the Cyclones holding a 6-3 advantage in the nine previous matchups, including the most recent meeting, where ISU defeated the Shockers, 7-0 in 2021.
Sunday will mark the first-ever meeting between Iowa State and St. Thomas.
LAST TIME OUT
Iowa State opened the regular season at Minnesota Jan. 23, where it fell 5-2 after taking a 2-0 lead.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Freshman Alicia Dale started her collegiate career off with a bang, dominating Minnesota's Yinong Ma, 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot. Dale picked up the lone singles win for the Cyclones in Minneapolis and will look to continue her hot start this weekend.
