AMES, Iowa – The Cyclones (4-5, 0-1 Big 12) head to Greensboro, North Carolina for the 2026 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships. The meet will begin on February 24th and end on February 28th.
The Conference
Iowa State will face Big 12 competition, including Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, Kansas, TCU, Utah, and West Virginia.
The Cyclones recently faced off against Kansas for their final dual meet of the season, where they fell to the Jayhawks 89-211.
Last Time Out – Kansas
The Cyclones closed out the dual-meet season at home against Kansas with three event wins. Grace Swoboda led the way with first place finishes in the 100 breast (1:01.77) and 200 breast (2:15.94). Kendall Mallers added a second-place finish in the 200 fly, while Emma Kuhn also finished in the runner-up spot in the 200 IM.
On the boards, Kate Mitchell captured the 3-meter title with a personal-best score of 321.08 and added a third-place finish on 1-meter, highlighting strength from the Cyclone diving group.
What to Watch For – Breaststroke and Distance
Peck and Swoboda have been setting the tone for the breaststroke events for the Cyclones, with consistent top 3 finishes in their recent competitions, while Carlotta Gazzola has been a force for Iowa State in the 500, 1000, 1650 freestyle events.
