Colt Tegtmeier is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with Iowa State tennis program.
Tegtmeier joined the staff after playing at Brandeis University. He was a four-year starter for the Judges, which ranked as high as No. 8 nationally during his career.
Tegtmeier, a Madison, Wis., native, helped lead Brandeis to the NCAA Tournament in 2021, its first appearance since 1989. The Judges advanced to the Elite Eight with Tegtmeier serving as team captain.
As a junior player, Tegtmeier held the No. 1 singles spot all four years of his high school career at James Madison Memorial High School. Tegtmeier was a state champion as a senior.
At Brandeis, he was a member of the school’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for four years.
Tegtmeier earned a double major in chemistry and philosophy at Brandeis. He is pursuing his master’s degree in higher education administration at Iowa State University.
