Michele Roberts is in her sixth campaign on Bill Fennelly’s Iowa State women’s basketball staff as director of basketball operations. She joined the Cyclones in May 2003.
Roberts handles responsibilities such as practice schedules, team travel, camps, budgets, alumni relations and game scheduling.
Roberts came to Iowa State from Omaha, where she served as head girl’s basketball coach at Central High School (1998-2003). She took the Eagles to back-to-back state tournaments in 2001 and 2002, including the 2002 semifinals.
The Omaha, Neb., native created the Junior Eagles Basketball program in 2000. Roberts also coached basketball overseas as a part of the People to People Sports Ambassadors program, traveling to France, Switzerland, New Zealand, Australia, Greece and Italy.
Roberts earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1995. She received her master’s degree in education, with a specialization in higher education, from Iowa State in August 2005.
