Iowa State Softball Team Earns Academic and All-Big 12 Awards

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Iowa State softball team had one player named to the second-team all-Big 12 team and four were named to the academic all-Big 12 team.
Cyclone senior Cinnamon Gooding was a second-team all-Big 12 selection at designated player. The Phoenix, Ariz., native is batting .426 this season, with 26 hits, four doubles, one home run and nine RBI.
Junior Kristin Ferguson, senior Lisa Frank, senior Michelle Junod and junior Kimi Yoshizawa were named to the first-team academic all-Big 12 team. A member of the first-team must have a 3.20 or higher grade point average to be selected. Ferguson, a math major from Barnum, Minn. was one of three players who had a 4.0 grade point average.
