Cyclone Softball Players Named to Midwest All-Region Softball Team

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State Cyclone softball players Lindsey Herrin and Erica Martinez have been named to the 2002 Midwest All-Region softball team. Herrin, a freshman from Coalinga, Calif., was a second team choice at first base while Martinez, garnered second team utility honors.
Herrin batted .318 this season with 41 hits including seven doubles. Herrin led the team in home runs (11) and RBI (37). Martinez, a native of Fort Madison, Iowa, batted .383 tallying 49 hits, 11 doubles, one triple, 10 home runs and 31 RBI. This is the second time Martinez has been a Midwest All-Region selection.
