Iowa State Softball Inks Two Preps For 2006 Season

AMES, Iowa ? Iowa State softball coach Ruth Crowe announced that two prep standouts have signed national letters of intent to play softball at Iowa State starting in the 2006 season.

“We are very excited about the addition of these two student-athletes to our team for the next year,” associate head coach Chris Cochran said. “They are both passionate about softball and are both true team players. I think they have the capabilities to help us out right away.”

Signing with Iowa State are:

Christine Kulick, who is from Aliso Viejo, Calif. Kulick attended Aliso Niguel High School where she was a utility player that got a lot of experience in many infield positions. She was a member of the California Desperados Gold of the Amateur Softball Association.

K.C. Cross, who attends Tustin High School in Tustin, Calif., where she played catcher for four years. She was also a member of the Corona Angels Gold of the Amateur Softball Association and led her team to a top-five finish at the 2004 ASA National Championship. Cross was also a member of her high school's volleyball team.

The 2005 Iowa State softball team season opens in February when the Cyclones travel to play in the UNLV tournament on Feb. 17-20.
