BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Randie Wirt sank three of four free throws in the final minute, and Maria Billingsley added two to lift No. 12 Colorado to a 72-67 victory Wednesday night over Iowa State.
Tera Bjorklund led the Buffs (19-3, 8-2 Big 12) with 24 points and Kate Fagan added 10, all in the second half. Megan Ronhovde scored 19 points for Iowa State (10-11, 3-7).
Trailing the Buffs by as many as nine points in the second half, Iowa State narrowed the gap to two in the final minute. The Cyclone's had three offensive chances in the last 30 seconds, but scored only once after turning the ball over and committing a foul.
Colorado took advantage of the miscues to put the game out of reach and sweep the season series for the second straight year.
Brittany Wilkins added 18 points and Mary Fox 15 for Iowa State, which forged a 33-33 tie at the half.
