LINCOLN, Neb. ? The Iowa State softball team fell, 6-0, to No. 19 Nebraska on Wednesday afternoon at Nebraska's Bowlin Stadium. With the loss, the Cyclones fall to 9-20 on the season and 1-4 in Big 12 play. Freshman Alyssa Ransom was on the mound for the Cyclones, her fourth consecutive game, and took the loss with her record falling to 7-11. Nebraska improves to 27-11 overall and 6-0 in league play.

NU's Summer Tobias (5-5) picked up the win on the mound, striking out one batter and giving up two hits.

Ransom split time on the mound with sophomore Kristen Karanzias and combined for five strikeouts and two walks.

Iowa State had two hits early on with freshman Ashley Killeen leading off with a hit to left field in the first inning, followed by sophomore Cary Akins in the second, but couldn't get the runs going and the game remained scoreless through three innings.

The Cyclones and the Cornhuskers went into the fourth inning with no score until Nebraska's Anne Steffan scored on a hit by Trisha Tannahill. The Cornhuskers followed with five runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-0 lead heading into the sixth inning.

The sixth inning was scoreless and the two teams went into the seventh inning with a 6-0 Nebraska lead. The Cyclones got the bats going but couldn't generate any runs and Nebraska won the game, 6-0. It was the Cornhuskers 11^th win in a row in the series dating back to 1999.

The Cyclones had two hits and no errors compared to Nebraska's 10 hits and one error.

Iowa State continues its road trip when they travel to conference foe Oklahoma State on Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11. First pitch on Saturday is set for 2 p.m. and at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
