AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State women's basketball player Anne O'Neil earned honorable mention All-America recognition from The Associated Press, just the third Cyclone to earn the honor. Former Cyclone Angie Welle was a three-time AP All-American, while Stacy Frese was honored twice.
The 5-11 senior guard from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, led ISU in scoring with 16.6 points per game while ranking among the nation's leaders with 49.6 percent accuracy from behind the 3-point arc. This season, O'Neil has also been named to the Kodak/WBCA District 5 All-America team, the all-Big 12 first team, the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America first team and the academic all-Big 12 first team.
