ISU Lands 10 on Academic All-Big 12 Softball Teams

Seniors Kim Rodgers and Amber Wood, junior Cary Akins and sophomores Jennifer Bigbee, Jessica Quade, Alyssa Ransom and Katie Reichling all earned first-team honors, while seniors Misty Kimura and Diana Reuter and sophomore Ashley Killeen were named to the second team.
Rodgers, who is majoring in math education, is making her third-straight appearance on the academic list. She is only the third Cyclone to be named to the list three times. She finishes her career fourth on the all-time stolen bases list.
Wood, who has been named to the team for the first time, is majoring in sports management. Akins has been named to the academic all-Big 12 team for the second consecutive year. She is majoring in exercise and sport science.

Nominated by each institution's director of student-athlete support services and media relations offices, the softball academic all-league squad consisted of 44 first team members combined with 15 on the second team. First team members include those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, and the second are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
