TERRE HAUTE, Ind.—The Iowa State men's cross country team was back in action with sophomore Kiel Uhl leading the team at the Pre-Nationals Cross Country Meet in Terre Haute, Ind., after the Cyclones took a three week break from competition.
The team took 13th place with 405 points. Uhl took 18th place individually out of 243 participants to come in first for the Cyclones. Uhl finished the 8K course with a time of 24:04. Coming in behind him were teammates Guor Majak and David Rotich in 40th and 98th place, respectively.
The University of Colorado, Big 12 competition for the Cyclones, took the team title with 75 points on the Indiana State course that will be used to hold the 2006 NCAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships in November.
The ISU men's cross country team will be back in action on Oct. 27, for the Big 12 Cross Country Championships in Lawrence, Kan. Check out www.cyclones.com for previews for the Big 12 competition.
