Cyclones Travel to ITA Regionals

AMES, Iowa - Six Iowa State tennis players will be competing in the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Assoiciation Central Regional Championship Oct. 18 -22 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Seniors Jill Palen, Eve Soriano, Danielle Uscinski, junior Chrissy Derouin, sophomore Kara Hickey and freshman Alyssa Palen will all be competing at Regionals this week.

The University of Tulsa will be hosting the event and all matches will be held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The singles champion from this event will earn a spot at the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships Nov. 2-5 hosted by the Ohio State University. The doubles champion automatic qualifier will be chosen by commitee between the doubles champions of the Tulsa Regional and the Utah Regional.

This event will feature the top players from the following Division I schools: Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas, Nebraska, St. Louis, Wichita State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Creighton, Oral Roberts, Kansas State, Tulsa, Southeast Missouri State and Kansas.

Tournament action begins today and will run through Sunday.
