AMES, Iowa - Iowa State senior Brittany Wilkins has been invited to participate in the WNBA's pre-draft camp in Boston, Mass., April 3-4. The camp, which hosts 40 athletes, will be scouted by representatives from all 14 WNBA teams in preparation for the league's draft to be held on April 5.
Wilkins was a 2006 all-Big 12 honorable mention selection and was named to the 2006 Big 12 all-tournament team following a 28 point, nine rebound effort against Oklahoma in the quarterfinals. The native of Arlington, Neb., was named to the 2006 Big 12 all-improved team by the Dallas Morning News and Kansas City Star.
Wilkins, who averaged 16.1 points and 8.9 rebounds this year, scored a career-high 30 points in the Cyclones win over Wisconsin-Green Bay in the first round of the WNIT. The 6-3 forward logged 14 career double-doubles, including 11 this season and led the Cyclones shooting 51.4 percent from the floor this season and finished second on the team at 80.9 percent from the free throw line
Seven Iowa State players have been drafted in the WNBA, including Anne O'Neil, who was selected by the Sacramento Monarchs in 2005.
