AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State women's basketball team ranked seventh in NCAA attendance for the 2005-06 season, marking the eighth consecutive season the Cyclones have ranked 11th or higher.
The Cyclones averaged 7,667 fans over 16 home contests last season with a total attendance of 122,679. Over 100,000 fans have attended games in each of the last six ISU campaigns.
The Big 12 conference led the nation in conference average attendance with a 4,980 fans per game mark, followed by the Big Ten and the Southeastern conferences. Four teams in the Big 12 ranked in the top 10 nationally, and nine league schools ranked in the top 40 last season.
Tennessee led the nation in women's basketball attendance for the ninth time in the last 10 years, with an average of 15,356 in 2005-06.
