Sanders/Medders Featured on ISU Calendar

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator Calli Sanders and senior women's basketball player Lyndsey Medders are two of 12 women featured in a “Women Impacting ISU” calendar, which will be unveiled on Sunday.

The Catt Associates, a student organization affiliated with the Catt Center for Women and Politics, took nominations and the 12 women were selected by a committee of students and faculty. The other faculty and staff selected included Susan Carlson, interim provost; Diane Debinski, associate professor of ecology, evolution and organismal biology; Tahira Hira, executive assistant to the president; Pat Miller, director of lectures; and Penny Rice, women's center coordinator. Other students included on the calendar are Andrea Benzschawel, Julie Hunt, Sulianet Ortiz, Rohini Ramnath and Cilia Ruiz-Paz.

The calendar will be unveiled during a reception honoring those women on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Union's Oak Room. The public is invited but should RSVP by contacting the Catt Center at 294-3181 or by e-mail at cattcenter@iastate.edu.

The 2,500 calendars will be distributed free-of-charge to anyone interested by contacting Jenna Jones, secretary of Catt Associates, at jennaj@iastate.edu.
