The week started with a couple of practices to prepare for the match against We were back to practicing on Thursday, this time was to prepare for Saturday was a typical game day with a team breakfast in the morning along with watching film before practice. After our practice was complete we ate at Souper Salad. For those of you who don't know what it is, it is a huge salad bar with about every topping you can imagine. There is also a variety of soups, pizza and spaghetti. They also have many different kinds of bread, including the ginger bread, which I would consider a team favorite. Lastly, my all-time favorite dessert is the strawberry shortcake. As you can tell I love eating at Souper Salads for our pre-game meal. Saturday night finally rolled around and it was game time against the Sooners. We knew coming into the match that it would not be an easy win for either team, since we are very evenly matched up. We were split one game a piece going into the break. We came out in the third game and won. Unfortunately, the fourth game didn't go as well; we had to play catch up the whole game. We came close, but not close enough to win the match. Now it was time for the deciding fifth game. It was close the whole way and sadly to say, we did not come out on top. The score of the final game was 12-15. I am sure we will be in more five game situations yet this season and hopefully we learned something from this match that will help us in the future. We have had great fan support at every match this season, even when we are on the road. There are many parents and other relatives that take time out of their busy schedules to come and cheer us on. It is a lot more exciting to play when they are there showing their Cyclone support. On Sunday, I celebrated my 22nd birthday. I didn't quite get the gift I wanted, that was to beat That's all the news for this week! Go State! Erin Boeve |
