ISU Wrestling and Volleyball Squads Earn NCAA Honor

AMES, Iowa ? Iowa State's wrestling and volleyball programs have earned the NCAA Public Recognition Award. The honor is bestowed on teams that have an NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR) in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sport.
Iowa State's wrestling team is ranked second nationally and was the 2007 Big 12 Conference champion and the NCAA team runner-up at the national championships. The Cyclone volleyball team is in the hunt for a second straight NCAA Tournament berth after making the second round of the postseason bracket in 2006.
