Williams, a 5-7 guard, plays for the Texas Home Educators Sports Association (THESA) of Fort Worth, which finished 38-12 last year under head coach Alan Burt. She hit 206 three-pointers last season at a 48.7 percent clip and averaged 24.3 points as a junior. Yackley, also a 5-7 guard, has been the starting point guard for Sully Buttes High School since the eighth grade, and led the Chargers to the South Dakota State B Basketball state title in her junior season. She was named first-team all-state as a sophomore and junior. -Iowa State improved to 6-1 on the campaign after defeating Drake, 58-51, last Sunday in Des Moines. The Cyclones have three more games before the Christmas break and then will host the American Family Insurance Cyclone Shoot-Out Dec. 28-30, before beginning Big 12 Conference play.
-With a 76-50 win over Montana State, the Cyclones collected their 500th win in program history. The are now 502-473 overall.
-Iowa State faces Creighton for the 22nd time in the series. The Cyclones lead the series, 14-7, and hold a 7-3 advantage in Ames. ISU has won the last eight meeting, including a 75-74 overtime win in Omaha in the last meeting between the two teams on Nov. 27, 2001.
-ISU has won its last 10 games at home, dating back to last season. The Cyclones have won 12 straight at home against non-conference opponents.
-Creighton comes to Ames after a week and a half off. The Bluejays are 5-3 on the season, but won 68-64 at Denver on Dec. 5, in their last game before making the trip to Hilton.

-Iowa State returns 10 letterwinners from its 2006-07 NCAA Tournament team. Last year's squad went 26-9 overall and 10-6 to finish tied for fourth in the Big 12 Conference. Iowa State lost four players from last season, including a pair of four-year starters in Lyndsey Medders and Megan Ronhovde.
-The Cyclones have added three newcomers to their roster, but only one is a freshman. Kelsey Bolte is Iowa State's only true freshman from Ida Grove, Iowa. Denae Stuckey is a sophomore transfer from Butler Community College and junior Jocelyn Anderson came to ISU from Des Moines Area Community College.
-Toccara Ross is Iowa State's only senior this season and is in her second season with the Cyclones after transferring last year from Kirkwood Community College. She averaged 10.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in her initial season at ISU.
-Junior Nicky Wieben is Iowa State's only returning 2007 Big 12 honoree. The 6-4 post player averaged 12 points and 5.7 rebounds as a sophomore to earn All-Big 12 honorable-mention accolades last season.
-Iowa State is coming off one of its best seasons in school history, recording a 26-9 overall record, one win shy of the school record. The Cyclones made the postseason for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons, making it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cyclones won nine of their final 11 games of the season and won three games in as many days to make it to the title game of the Big 12 Championship against Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.
-Head coach Bill Fennelly is 265-120 at Iowa State and in his 13th season with the Cyclones. He is 431-173 in his head coaching career, which began at Toledo in 1988.
-Creighton is 5-3 after defeating Denver on the road, 68-64, on Dec. 5. The Bluejays have dropped two out of their last three after winning four out of their first five.
-Creighton has already faced a pair of Big 12 Conference opponents this season, falling on the road to Kansas, 91-56, and Nebraska, 79-65.
-CU is coming off a 13-19 season, including an 8-10 sixth-place finish in the MVC and a spot in the Valley Tournament title game. CU was picked to finish sixth in the 2007-08 MVC preseason poll.
-Jim Flanery guided his team to three straight WNIT appearances to start his career, while capturing the 2004 WNIT Championship. In 2003 he became the winningest rookie coach in school and MVC history. Now in his sixth season at CU, his overall mark is 93-71 (.567).
-Eight Bluejays are averaging between 5.0 and 11.3 points per game, led by Sam Schuett's 11.3 ppg mark.
-Creighton has averaged 67.2 points per game and has a winning margin of +2.3 for the season. The Bluejays are averaging 6.5 three-pointers per game and have shot 38.2 percent from the field.

-Iowa State has had to find a way to win without the three-point shot the last two times out. ISU has been held to just five treys on 27 attempts for a 18.5 percent shooting clip from long range in the last two outings combined. The Cyclones have found their success in the paint in the last two games, however, scoring 74 of their 116 total points (63.8 percent) in the lane.
-Junior Nicky Wieben has been in double digits in six of ISU's seven games this season. Wieben has led the Cyclones in scoring in four contests this season.

In the national attendance rankings which are put out on Monday by the University of Wisconsin, the Cyclones rank third nationally in fans per game with 10,078. Tennessee and Connecticut are the only two teams ahead of Iowa State this season.
Iowa State struggled to begin both halves at Drake, but found enough points in each to hold on for a 58-51 win over the Bulldogs. Drake got out to a 8-0 start before the Cyclones went on an 11-point run to take their first lead. Drake took its only lead of the second half, 42-41, with 5:35 remaining. But ISU finally found its three-point shot as Alison Lacey hit her only trey of the game, and Amanda Nisleit hit a three-pointer and converted a conventional three-point play in an 11-3 run by the Cyclones to give them a seven-point cushion. Iowa State shot 39.3 percent for the game and just 23.1 percent from long range, while Drake shot just 31.3 percent for the contest and 18.8 percent from beyond the arc. The Cyclones outrebounded Drake, 44-33, and blocked eight shots.
Despite hitting just two treys against Iowa and three against Drake, the Cyclones are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game this season, hitting 17 and 12, respectively, against Sacramento State and Michigan. Heather Ezell knocked down 10 treys in the win over Sacramento State and Alison Lacey caught fire, draining nine in the win over Michigan. Iowa State is shooting 36.1 percent from beyond the arc, which ranks second in the Big 12.
After facing Drake on Sunday, the Cyclones take on their second of three straight games against Missouri Valley Conference teams on Sunday when they face Creighton. Iowa State will play host to Northern Iowa on Tuesday to wrap up the run through the MVC portion of the schedule. All three Valley teams currently rank in the top six in the league. Last season, Drake finished eighth in the league, but made a run through the Valley tournament on its home floor to win the championship and clinch a berth in the NCAA Tournament. ISU head coach Bill Fennelly is 29-6 in his career against MVC teams and 27-6 since coming to ISU.
Iowa State has held opponents to 50.6 points per game and has only allowed one opponent to score more than 60 points this season (62 by No. 19 Vanderbilt). The Cyclones' opponents have shot 34.9 percent from the floor and 27.9 percent from three-point range. ISU has forced opponents into 15.1 turnovers per game. Iowa State ranks second in the Big 12 in scoring defense.
ISU ranks in the top 25 in eight NCAA statistical categories, released Monday. The Cyclones entered the week ranking second in personal fouls per game and third in turnovers per contest. ISU was ninth in scoring defense and 12th in both rebounding margin and three-point field goals per game. On an individual level, Heather Ezell ranked 33rd in three-point field goals per game (2.6). Jocelyn Anderson and Nicky Wieben are tied for 35th with 2.1 blocked shots per contest and Wieben is 49th in field-goal percentage (.541).
As a team, Iowa State ranks in the top six of the conference in 13 of the 19 statistical categories. The Cyclones rank second in the league in scoring defense (50.6), three-point field goal percentage (.361), three-pointers per game (7.6) and assists-to-turnover margin. ISU is third in defensive rebounding (30.3). Individually, Nicky Wieben is ninth in the conference in scoring (14.7) and she and Jocelyn Anderson are each tied for fourth in blocked shots (2.1 pg). Heather Ezell is second the Big 12 in three-pointers per game (2.6) and Alison Lacey is sixth in assists (4.6), assist-to-turnover ratio and three-pointers per game (2.1).
Junior Nicky Wieben finished in double figures against Drake (16), marking the 40th time in her ISU career she has scored in double digits and the sixth time this season to score 10+ points for the Cyclones. She also has 15 blocks on the season and 136 blocked shots for her career. She needs 20 blocks to break the Iowa State career record.
Heather Ezell was named the Big 12 Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 19, after she tied the Big 12 and Iowa State records for three-pointers in a single game, knocking down 10 in a 99-45 win over Sacramento State. She broke the Hilton Coliseum record, which was previously eight three-pointers, and she tied Stacy Frese (ISU, 1999) and Laurie Koehn (Kansas State, 2003) in the Big 12 record book.
Sophomore Alison Lacey set a new career high with 10 assists against Pepperdine in her official debut as ISU's starting point guard. Lacey has passed out a team-leading 32 assists this season for a 4.6 apg average, while committing just 18 turnovers.
Iowa State has returned the same coaching staff for the last five seasons. Associate head coach Jack Easley is the newest to the staff and is in his fifth campaign with the Cyclones. Latoja Schaben is not new to the staff, but she was married during the offseason, going from Latoja Harris to Latoja Schaben. She played for Coach Fennelly at Toledo, while fellow assistant Jodi Steyer coached for Fennelly at Toledo from 1989 to 1996 and has been at Iowa State for the past five seasons.
The Iowa State women's basketball team returned to the AP Poll this week earning one vote. The Cyclones received 18 votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll, ranking tied for 30th.
Iowa State will add the services of three outstanding newcomers in 2008-09, head coach Bill Fennelly announced when Ashley Arlen (Cascade, Iowa), Whitney Williams (Ft. Worth, Texas) and Alexis Yackley (Onida, S.D.) each signed national letters of intent.
With Jody Conradt stepping down as head coach at the University of Texas at the conclusion of last season, Iowa State head coach Bill Fennelly became the new dean of Big 12 coaches. Fennelly wrapped up his 12th season at Iowa State, followed closely by Deb Patterson (Kansas State) and Sherri Coale (Oklahoma), who each finished their 11th campaign at a Big 12 institution. Fennelly is tied with Coale for the most Big 12 regular-season wins by current league coaches with 110.
The Cyclones have been phenomenal at home during head coach Bill Fennelly's tenure, compiling a 158-27 record (.854) in Hilton Coliseum, including a 73-3 (.961) mark against regular-season non-conference opponents. Iowa State was a last-second shot away from going undefeated at home in 2006-07, finishing with a 15-1 record at Hilton. ISU finished the 2006-07 season ranked seventh in attendance, marking the ninth consecutive season the Cyclones have ranked 11th or higher in the nation.
Iowa State has made at least one three-pointer in 386 consecutive games dating back to 1995. That streak now ranks second in the nation. Canisius College unofficially holds the longest current streak at 398 consecutive games, while Iowa State is second.
ISU is offering a bus trip to watch the Cyclones face Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn., on Friday, Dec. 21. The trip, which will include a ticket to the game, a round-trip bus ride to Minneapolis, and last minute holiday shopping at Mall of America, is available for $40. Fans can mail in or drop off an order form at the ISU Athletic Department or register online. The deadline for registration is Monday, Dec. 3, at noon. The trip is subject to cancellation depending on participation.
Iowa State will play host to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball First and Second Rounds at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, on March, 22 and 24, 2008. The site will host eight teams and if Iowa State is selected for the 2008 NCAA Tournament, it is guaranteed that the Cyclones will be one of the eight teams that will play in Des Moines. The teams selected to play in Des Moines will be announced on the NCAA Selection Show on ESPN Monday, March 17, 2008.
The Iowa State women's basketball team was picked sixth by the Big 12 Conference coaches in the 2007-08 preseason poll. Iowa State was ranked 36th by CBSSports.com in its preseason magazine. The Cyclones were one of seven teams from the Big 12 ranked by the magazine.
