AMES, Iowa ? Katie Reichling hit a two-run double and Jessica Quade hit her fifth homer of the season and second of the day as Iowa State defeated Northern Iowa, 5-3, to earn a sweep of the Panthers Wednesday afternoon at the Southwest Athletic Complex.
With the win, ISU improves to 19-24 on the season.
Reichling and Amanda Bradberry finished the game with two hits each. Bradberry's two hits were triples and Reichling doubled twice in the win.

The Cyclones scored a pair of insurance runs in the sixth inning that proved to be the difference in the game. Quade led off the inning with a towering shot to left field and Bradberry's second triple of the game allowed the freshman to score from third on a wild pitch as ISU pushed its lead to 5-1.
The Panthers, who also scored solo runs in the first and fifth innings, added a run in the seventh and got the tying run into scoring position before Alyssa Ransom closed the door with a strikeout and break the school record with her sixth career save.
Freshman Charissa Carlin (9-6) picked up the win for
Backey (0-2) got the loss for the Panthers, allowing five runs on six Cyclone hits.
