Senior Janet Anson won three individual events (vault, beam and floor) and placed second on bars en route to her 17th career all-around title to lead the 17th-ranked Cyclones to a first-place finish last Friday ... ISU scored a 196.700, its highest score of the season, and finished ahead of 16th-ranked Denver (195.700) and third-place Iowa (194.500) ... Iowa State posted its highest floor score this year, scoring a 49.325, and scored a 49.000 or higher on each event for the first time this season ... on floor, the Cyclones swept the podium led by Anson (9.950), her seventh floor crown of the season, followed by Katie Sweetin (9.925), who took second and Jasmine Thompson (9.90), who finished third.

Brittney Koncak-Schumann and Kiara Redmond shared the all-around title with a score of 39.550 ... the Sooners swept top honors on each event and recorded team season highs on vault (49.350) and floor (49.375) and tied their season-best 49.325 on beam ... Injury Update
Ashley Alden returned to the beam line-up last week after missing five meets because of an ankle injury ... she is expected to remain in the beam line-up this week ... before she was injured, Alden was ranked eighth in the nation in the event ... freshman Megan Barnes, who did not compete against Denver and Iowa due to minor injuries, is expected to be back for the Big 12 Championship ... sophomore Ashley Kent sustained a season-ending knee injury during the Nebraska meet and will miss the rest of the season.

With its win over intrastate rival Iowa last weekend, the Cyclones improved to 12-5 on the season and recorded their highest team score of the season (196.700) ... freshman Nikki Dilbert earned or tied season highs in all four events, and in the all-around ... Katie Sweetin (9.925) and Jasmine Thompson (9.90) set season highs on floor ... in total, six Cyclones combined to earn or tie 13 season highs ... Friday's attendance of 2,403 was the fifth highest on Iowa State's all-time attendance list ... this is the second attendance record set this season.
Anson Earns Seventh Big 12 Weekly Honor
Janet Anson was named Big 12 Conference Gymnast of the Week on March 26 ... Anson was honored for the second time this season and the seventh time in her career for her performance against Denver and Iowa on senior night ... Anson won three individual events (vault, beam and floor) and placed second on bars to capture the all-around crown ... Anson's 9.950 on floor was her best routine of the season and tied her career high ... the Kansas City, Mo., native and seven-time All-American captured the all-around with a 39.650 ... in addition, Anson's second-place bars routine tied her career high (9.90).
ISU Sweeps
With the win, Iowa State is now 46-21 all-time against Iowa and has defeated the GymHawks in 27-of-the-last-28 meetings ... ISU has swept the series with Iowa the last four consecutive years and claimed two more points in the Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk series last Friday ... the series now sits at 11-8 in favor of the Hawkeyes ... Iowa State gymnasts also picked up two points for the Cyclones on March 4, defeating No. 24 Iowa, 195.325-194.275, in Iowa City ... head-to-head, Iowa State swept all four team events in both meets vs. the GymHawks.

Janet Anson is ranked first in the North Central Region and in the Big 12 Conference in the all-around ... she holds an RQS of 39.440 ... she is also ranked fifth in the nation ... additionally, Anson is ranked first in both the region and the Big 12 on floor (RQS 9.915) and is tied for sixth in the nation ... against Denver and Iowa, Anson scored a season-high 9.950 to claim the floor title, she also placed first on vault, beam and in the all-around and took second on bars.

Lasher Earns Big 12 Weekly Honor
Senior Katie Lasher was named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week on Feb. 27... this was the first time Lasher has received the weekly honor ... against Illinois, Lasher won a share of the bars title and tied for second on vault to help lead Iowa State to a season-high score of 196.425 and wins over No. 24 Illinois and Northern Illinois ... she recorded a career-high 9.925 on bars en route to her first event title of the season and the second of her career ... on vault, Lasher scored a season-high 9.875, leading the Cyclones to a season-high team event score of 49.350.
Janet Anson was named to the 2007 Big 12 Conference Winter Sports “Good Works” Team in recognition of community service efforts by league student-athletes ... three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) for ISU athletes ... this year, Anson has participated in numerous community service projects including the Lutheran Services' in Iowa's Beloit Center Beloit Blue Sky Days, helping prepare and deliver Thanksgiving food baskets for underprivileged families in Ames, helped deliver presents to children at the Beloit Center for the Adopt-an-Angel Program, was part of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration and helped raise money for Relay for Life ... Anson has also been on the SAAC Community Outreach Committee as a sponsor for YMCA Healthy Kids Day, a project promoting fitness fun for kids ... Anson is a senior from Kansas City, Mo., majoring in health and human performance.
