AMES, Iowa- For the second consecutive week the Iowa State men's shuttle hurdle relay secured a first-place finish, the second on Friday in Columbia, Mo. at the Missouri Relays. The ISU distance runners also ran well at the Stanford Invitational in
The shuttle hurdle relay, consisting of Sterling Frison, Scott Lynn, Eric Parker and Kellen Burl, ran a 58.34, defeating its closest opponent by almost two seconds. The Cyclone squad's time surpasses the 1:01.44 effort at last week's Walt Disney World Invitational in

Burl, Frison and Lynn all compete Saturday in the 110-meter hurdles, the event that Burl ran a sound 14.29 last week.
Others competing Saturday include Jared Lewis and David Dawson in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash, Elijah Braimah in the 400-meter dash and Zach Brouillette and Robbie Utterback in the shot put, weather permitting.
At Stanford, in California, with favorable weather conditions, ISU freshman Guor Majak ran a 29:42.76 to place second in his section of the 10,000-meter run. It is the first action Majak has seen in the outdoor season.
Kiel Uhl also saw his first action of the season in the 5,000-meter run, running a 14:24.45 effort. Uhl missed the entire indoor season with injury.
Events for both meets continue Saturday with the discus throw at the Missouri Relays starting at 8 a.m. ISU's first race Saturday at Stanford is at 8:59 p.m. with the 1,500-meter run.
