Koll, the freshman, competing in her first ever outdoor 5,000-meter run, recorded a career best time of 16:19.58 that made her the second-fastest 5,000-meter runner in Cyclone history. The
“Lisa's goal coming into today's race was to qualify for the NCAA regional meet,” said women's head coach Dick Lee. “It was an outstanding effort for her first ever outdoor meet as a Cyclone and it is still early in the season. She ran a great race today and I look forward to seeing what the rest of the season holds.”
After an impressive outing in the 800-meter run last weekend at the Disney Invite, senior Jenny Mockler returned this week with another stellar performance. Mockler ran a career best time of 4:31.59 in the 1500-meter run on Saturday.
“Jenny also ran a fantastic race today,” Lee said. “All of the heats ahead of her started the race with a slow pace but Jenny handled it very well and finished the race very strong.”
