Cyclones Play Host To No. 10 Baylor

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State (22-33, 1-9 Big 12) will host 10th-ranked Baylor this weekend in a pair of Big 12 games at the Southwest Athletics Complex. This will mark the second and third meeting between the schools, with Baylor defeating the Cyclones, 7-2, at the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational.

Scouting Baylor
The Bears (39-11, 9-2 Big 12) enter Friday's contest riding a two-game losing streak after being swept by Oklahoma on Wednesday ... it marks just the second time this season that they have lost two games in a row ... seniors Ashley Monceaux and Lisa Ferguson lead the Bears ... Monceaux hits at a .406 clip, which is fifth in the Big 12, and has a team-high 51 runs batted in ... Ferguson is one of the top pitchers in the league with a 1.97 ERA and a record of 18-6 ... freshman Kirsten Shortridge has spelled Ferguson, posting a 13-3 record and a 2.05 ERA, in 116 innings of work ... Shortridge has also posted a .376 batting average for the Bears, who hit .319 as a team ... Baylor leads the Big 12 with 118 stolen bases on 133 attempts ... Texas A&M is second with 92 stolen bases ... Tiffany Wesley leads the team with 30 stolen bases on 35 attempts ... Baylor is coached by Glenn Moore, who is in his seventh season with the school.
