AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State tennis team will play host to Kansas State at the Ames Racquet and Fitness Center Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. The match against the Wildcats was originally scheduled to be played on March 2, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
The Cyclones (5-6, 0-5) are coming off a 6-1 home loss to No. 75 Nebraska at the Ames Racquet and Fitness Center last Saturday. Freshman Alyssa Palen improved her singles record to 8-6 as she defeated Nebraska's Maria Ring, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
The match against the Wildcats will be the second of a four-meet homestand for the Cyclones. The Wildcats (2-11, 0-4) are coming off a 6-1 loss to No. 52 Oklahoma State last Sunday. Kansas State has lost 10 consecutive dual matches. The Wildcats' two wins on the year came against Drake and Utah, with their last win coming on Feb. 16, against the Utes.
The Cyclones will wrap up their home schedule this weekend as they play host to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Saturday's match against the Cowgirls will be Iowa State's Senior Day. The Cyclones will recognize their three seniors, Jill Palen, Danielle Uscinski, and Eve Soriano.
