AUSTIN, Texas- Despite competing against fields loaded with the nation's best athletes and breezy cold temperatures, two Iowa State freshmen from the women's track and field team set personal records at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
In the 100-meter hurdles, freshman Jenna Caffrey broke her personal best effort with a clocking of 13.95 seconds. Caffrey, coming off a minor injury to her ankle, smashed her season opening time of 14.31 seconds that she ran at the Disney Invitational in

We will keep working hard and getting better with practice and I think Jenna has a chance to do great things this outdoor season.”
One-hundred meter sprinter Lashawn Wright ran a career best time in the 100-meter dash. The freshman crossed the finish line with a time of 12.09 seconds.
Senior hurdler Sara Boisen competed in the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday evening running a time of 1:01 seconds. Senior Leigh Wagner left the Texas Relays with a vertical leap of 5-5 in the high jump, and senior Priya Hoze finished with a mark of 18-0 1/2. Standout jumper Agata Kosuda fouled on all three jumps.
