NCAA Women's Basketball Dates Set

AMES, Iowa ? The NCAA Division I Women's Basketball First and Second Rounds in Des Moines, Iowa, will be held on Saturday and Monday, March, 22 and 24, 2008, the NCAA has announced. While the site was awarded in 2005, the specific dates were just recently assigned by the NCAA.

The event will be held at Wells Fargo Arena and will be hosted by Iowa State University. The site will host eight teams and if Iowa State is selected for the 2008 NCAA Tournament, it is guaranteed that the Cyclones will be one of the eight teams that will play in Des Moines.

The teams selected to play in Des Moines will be announced on the NCAA Selection Show on ESPN Monday, March 17, 2008. Game times will not be announced until that week due to television. There will be two separate brackets played in Des Moines, with 2 teams advancing to the Sweet Sixteen out of each sub-regional. The tournament consists of two sessions on March 22, with two games in each session; and one session consisting of two games on March 24.

Fans can purchase all-session tickets (six games total, including four games in the first round and two in the second). All-Session tickets cost $35 for adults and $20 for students and youth. Single-session tickets will cost $15 for adults and $10 for students and youth per session. A single-session ticket will be available the week of the event and each session will include two games. Anyone 18 and under and all college students qualify for the student/youth fee. Tickets will not be sold at group rates.
