ISU shot 45.5 percent in the second half.

? Iowa State opened the regular season last Sunday with a 77-45 win over UMKC. The Cyclones also knocked off UNI on the road Thursday 79-54. The Cyclones made it to the Big 12 Championship semifinals by defeating Colorado, 76-50, and 15th-ranked and regular-season Big 12 champ Kansas State, 66-65, in an overtime thriller.
? Head coach Bill Fennelly is 282-132 at Iowa State and in his 14th season with the Cyclones. He is 448-185 in his head coaching career, which began at Toledo in 1988.
A Closer Look At Creighton
? Creighton is 0-2 on the season after dropping its season opener at Arkansas State, 73-56, and its home opener last Monday to Nebraska, 72-67. The Bluejays led the Huskers 63-60 before NU went on an 8-0 run to take the lead for good late in the game. Creighton was picked to finish picked second in the MVC preseason poll as voted on by league coaches, media and sports information directors.
? The Jays were 21-12 overall last season and 12-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference for a tie for fourth-pace in the final league standings. CU advanced to the second round of the postseason WNIT.
? Junior Chevelle Herring has been Creighton's leading scorer through two games, averaging 13.5 ppg. The Nebraska native lead CU with 19 points, going 9-of-22 from the field, against the Huskers. Sophomore Kelsey Woodard, who earned MVC All-Freshman honors last season, has been CU's second leading scorer with 11 points per game, including leading the team with 13 points at Arkansas State.
? Creighton has struggled shooting the ball in its first two games of the season, hitting just 37.3 percent from the floor and averaging 61.5 points per game. Megan Kaus has had the hot hand for CU in the first two games, shooting 58.3 percent from the field and going 6-of-9 from three-point range, but tore her ACL against NU.
? Creighton head coach Jim Flannery has led his team to four WNIT postseason appearances, including the 2004 WNIT Championship. He is 109-82 in his seventh season with the Jays. The Cyclones are also receiving enough votes in the Associated Press Top 25 to rank just outside of the top 25, sitting in 27th place. The Cyclones received votes in both polls in the preseason, but moved into the actual top 25 this week. Iowa State was also chosen 22nd in ESPN.com's preseason poll.
Making the Connection
Iowa State senior Nicky Wieben and Creighton senior Kristina Voss were teammates at Ankeny High School, leading the Hawkettes to four straight state championships. Ankeny compiled a 95-11 overall record and a 27-0 mark and No. 2 national ranking by USA Today in the duo's final prep campaign. ISU student assistant coach Brittany Lange spent her freshman year at Creighton, where she played in 15 games for the Jays.
Looking for 1,000
The Cyclones could have three different players hit the 1,000-point milestone this season. Heather Ezell (949), Nicky Wieben (898) and Alison Lacey (773) are all within striking distance of reaching the mark. Ezell is the closest, needing just 51 points. Eighteen players in school history have already reached the mark and the most recent addition to the 1,000-point club is Megan Ronhovde, who finished her career with 1,094 points in 2006-07.
Cleaning the Glass

Last season, Iowa State only had one game with 50 rebounds and the Cyclones averaged 35.9 rpg. ISU has five players averaging four rebounds or better per game in its first two games.
