AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State softball team will host intrastate rival Iowa in the final Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk series contest of the 2007-08 season. The Cyclones are looking to halt a three-game skid while Iowa hopes to build on a 1-0 win over nationally-ranked Ohio State. First pitch from the Southwest Athletic Complex is slated for 4 p.m. Admission is free.

- ISU (23-14, 1-3 Big 12) faces Iowa (21-11, 1-1 Big Ten) in a Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series matchup. The Cyclones have already clinched the series but look to add onto their 18-7 lead by snapping a four-game skid against the Hawkeyes.
- Third-year Iowa State head coach Stacy Gemeinhardt-Cesler is taking a leave of absence as she is on bed rest expecting twins. Assistant coaches Gary Hines and Crystal Turner will serve as acting head coaches and former Cyclone Alyssa Ransom joins the squad as an interim assistant coach.
- The Cyclones went 3-3 last week, struggling in a pair of losses to Texas over the weekend.
- The Cyclones are 5-10 in their last 15 games after opening the season 18-4.
- Since re-entering the lineup 10 games ago against Creighton, Amanda Bradberry has led the Cyclones with a .407 average (11-for-27). In the last five games Bradberry has been even better, hitting .462 to lead the team and recording at least one hit in each game during the stretch, which is a career best.
- Sophomore Alex Johnson needs just nine hits to reach 100 for her career. Wray, another sophomore is just 11 hits shy of the century mark.
- Alex Johnson is hitting .447 (17-for-38) with runners in scoring position this season.
- Iowa State has 54 stolen bases on the season, which ranks as the fourth-best single-season in school history. Kelsey Kidwell has 14 steals on the season, just four shy of tying the record.
- ISU's pitching staff has struggled as of late, posting a 3.94 ERA in the last five games.
- Iowa State's leading hitter Ariel Coburn suffered a broken wrist in the loss to Creighton. Coburn, who is day-to-day, is tied for third in the Big 12 with a .400 average and has a team-best six homers.
- Joining Coburn among the league leading hitters is sophomore Courtney Wray, who is 13th with a .363 average. Wray is also tied for the conference lead with three triples.
- The Cyclones are fourth in the league in team pitching in conference games with a 3.36 ERA but have been plagued by a league-low .927 fielding percentage that has contributed to eight unearned runs.
- Kristy Olsen's .375 average in Big 12 play leads the Cyclones.

Scouting Iowa (21-11, 1-1 Big Ten)
- Intrastate rival Iowa has won three of its last four games after splitting with nationally ranked Ohio State this weekend. The Hawkeyes dropped Friday's game, 4-3, but rebounded for a 1-0 win over the Buckeyes on Saturday.
- Against Ohio State, Amanda Zust was outstanding, allowing just two hits while striking out four. Left fielder Quinn Morelock drove in Iowa's lone run with a RBI single in the fifth inning.
- Iowa is led offensively by Rachel West, who is hitting .418, while Colleen McGlaughlin has a team-high 17 RBI. Chelsey Carmody (.364) and McGlaughlin (.356) are also having solid seasons at the plate for the Hawkeyes, whose .270 average ranks eighth in the Big Ten.
- In the circle, Iowa boasts the second-best pitching staff in the league with a 1.05 ERA. Zust is 9-2 with a 0.97 ERA while Brittany Weil sits at 12-9 with a 1.10 ERA. Weil has struck out 141.
- In last year's contest, Iowa braved bitterly cold and windy conditions to capture the 2-1 win. It was the Iowa's fourth-straight victory over ISU.
