ISU Tennis Travels to Kansas, Kansas State

AMES, Iowa ? The Iowa State tennis team will head to Kansas this weekend to take on Kansas State and Kansas. ISU will take on the KSU Wildcats at 3 p.m. Friday at the Washburn Tennis Facility. It will be followed by a match on Sunday against the Jayhawks at 11 a.m.

Iowa State enters the weekend with a mark of 4-12, and is winless in the conference. The Cyclones lost both of their matches last weekend to Colorado and Missouri. ISU is led in singles wins by senior Caitlin Loprinzi, who currently has eight.

Kansas State is 6-12 on the season and 2-7 in the Big 12. Last weekend, the Wildcats lost to No. 21 Texas and No. 32 Texas A&M. The Longhorns defeated the Wildcats, 6-1, while the Aggies defeated KSU, 7-0. The Wildcats are led by Viviana Yrureta at the No. 1 position. She is currently 9-8 on the season.

Kansas enters Sunday's match with a 7-13 record, and is 3-7 in the conference. The Jayhawks also lost to Texas and Texas A&M. They lost both matches, 6-1. Kansas is led by Edina Horvath, who leads the team with nine wins.
