AMES, Iowa - Iowa State goes on the road to face Big 12 foe Texas Tech this weekend after a five-game home stand. The Cyclones and Red Raiders will play Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (noon) at Rocky Johnson Field in Lubbock.

- ISU (26-23, 3-10 Big 12) takes to the road for a Big 12 series at Texas Tech (18-33, 5-9) following a five-game homestand.
- The Cyclones struggled Wednesday, dropping a doubleheader to Missouri as it closed out its home slate at the Southwest Athletic Complex. ISU finished the season 4-10 at home.
- Against the Tigers, ISU managed just six hits in the doubleheader while Missouri had 26 in 12-1 and 6-0 wins. Amanda Renth finished 5-for-7 with five RBI and two homers for Mizzou.
- Carleigh Berry was one of the lone bright spots for the Cyclones Wednesday. Berry finished 2-for-2, collecting hits in both pinch hitting opportunities, with a double.
- The Cyclones have homered a school-record 29 time this season, surpassing the previous record of 27 in 2002.
- Three Cyclones are on the verge of reaching 100 career hits. Sophomore Courtney Wray needs just one hit while Kristy Olsen and Alex Johnson are six and five hits shy, respectively.
- The Cyclones are hitting just .221 in the last five games while opponents are hitting .336.
- With her next game, Kristy Olsen will become just the third player in school history to play in 200 career games.
- Sydni Jones is hitting .344 in Big 12 play, which leads the team. Kelsey Kidwell is second among regulars with a .297 average.
- Courtney Wray has raised her average nearly 100 points from her freshman year to sophomore year. Wray is hitting .345 and ranks among the top-20 hitters in the league.
- Ariel Coburn has 15 extra base hits and eight homers. Her .673 slugging percentage leads the team.
- Alex Johnson is just the ninth player in school history to drive in 30 runs in a season.
- ISU has turned a league-best 18 double plays on the season.
- ISU has four players with 20+ RBI for the first time since the inception of the Big 12 (1996).
- Iowa State's 26 wins is the most since 1989 when the Cyclones went 32-18-1.
- The Cyclones' .260 team batting average is just below the school record .270 in 1995.
- After hitting just .227 with runners in scoring position last year ISU is hitting .299 in the same situation this season. Courtney Wray leads the way hitting .432 (16-for-37) with teammates on second and third.
- Iowa State is 10-33 all-time against Texas' Big 12 schools on their home turf but the Cyclones are 4-6 at Texas Tech.

Scouting Texas Tech (18-33, 5-9 Big 12)
- Texas Tech, winners of five of its last seven, enters the weekend off a split with UT-Arlington on Tuesday.
- Against the Mavericks, first baseman Jennifer Corkin finished with a pair of hits and four RBI in an 8-1 win in the first game. Tye Coats picked up the win after allowing just one hit in four innings. The Red Raiders fell 5-3 in the second game.
- On the season, Texas Tech leadoff hitter Leah Legler paces the offense with a .335 batting average and 14 stolen bases. Montana Patin is the top run producer with a team-high six homers and 35 RBI.
- The Red Raiders hit .246 as a team but just .212 in Big 12 play.
- In the circle, Texas Tech is last in the Big 12 with a 3.49 ERA. Ashly Jacobs is 8-14 with a 2.36 ERA. Jacobs has struck out 85 on the season. Coats is 7-12 with a 3.85 ERA.
- Texas Tech holds a 14-12 edge in the all-time series. The Cyclones and Red Raiders split the season series in 2007.
A New Look
- Third-year Iowa State head coach Stacy Gemeinhardt-Cesler is taking a leave of absence as she is on bed rest expecting twins. Assistant coaches Gary Hines and Crystal Turner will serve as acting head coaches and former Cyclone Alyssa Ransom-Tjaden joins the squad as an interim assistant coach.
JUST GRAND
- Alex Johnson has four home runs this season, three of which have been of the grand slam variety. Johnson, who has 10 career homers, has went long with the bases loaded against Southeast Missouri State, Wichita State and Nebraska.
