AMES, Iowa - Iowa State welcomes sixth-ranked Texas A&M to the Southwest Athletic Complex this weekend as it looks to snap a four-game skid. The Cyclones and Aggies are scheduled to meet at 2 p.m. Saturday and noon on Sunday.

Cyclone Notebook
- ISU (23-15, 1-3 Big 12) hosts sixth-ranked Texas A&M (34-6, 6-0 Big 12) this weekend in Big 12 action. The Cyclones and Aggies will face off Saturday at 2 p.m. before meeting Sunday at noon in the season finale.
- Third-year Iowa State head coach Stacy Gemeinhardt-Cesler is taking a leave of absence as she is on bed rest expecting twins. Assistant coaches Gary Hines and Crystal Turner will serve as acting head coaches and former Cyclone Alyssa Ransom joins the squad as an interim assistant coach.
- The Cyclones are 1-4 in their last five games after dropping a 3-1 decision to intrastate rival Iowa on Tuesday.
- Against the Hawkeyes, ISU took a 1-0 lead on a second-inning double by Sydni Jones and Rachel Zabriskie kept Iowa off the board until a fifth inning homer. Zabriskie then gave up two in the seventh inning and ISU was unable to tie it in the bottom of the seventh.
- Since re-entering the lineup 11 games ago against Creighton, Amanda Bradberry has led the Cyclones with a .400 average (12-for-30). In the last five games Bradberry has been even better, hitting .462 to lead the team. The sophomore is currently riding a career-best six game hitting streak.
- Sophomore Alex Johnson needs just nine hits to reach 100 for her career. Wray, another sophomore is just 11 hits shy of the century mark.
- Iowa State has 54 stolen bases on the season, which ranks as the fourth-best single-season in school history. Kelsey Kidwell has 14 steals on the season, just four shy of tying the record.
- Iowa State's leading hitter Ariel Coburn suffered a broken wrist in the loss to Creighton. Coburn, who is day-to-day, is second in the Big 12 with a .400 average and has a team-best six homers. Coburn has pinch ran in two games since the injury and was thrown out stealing for the first time in 17 career attempts against the Hawkeyes.
- The Cyclones are fourth in the league in team pitching in conference games with a 3.36 ERA but have been plagued by a league-low .927 fielding percentage that has contributed to eight unearned runs.
- Kristy Olsen leads the Cyclones with a .375 average in league play.
- ISU has scored just two runs in four Big 12 games after averaging 4.5 runs in non-Big 12 games.
Stat of the Week
Rachel Zabriskie averages 6.5 strikeouts per game and is tied for sixth in the Big 12 with 99 strikeouts. Last year, Amie Ford led the Cyclones averaging 6.32 per game.
Scouting Texas A&M (34-6, 6-0 Big 12)
- Texas A&M is one of the nation's top teams and arrives in Ames riding a six-game winning streak, all of which have come against Big 12 opponents. The Aggies haven't lost since March 16 when they dropped a 2-1 decision to Long Beach State for their second straight loss.
- The Aggies outscore opponents 3.5 to 1 and average just under eight hits per game.
- Texas A&M swept Missouri last weekend to improve to 6-0 in Big 12 play. Against the Tigers, Megan Gibson picked up both wins to improve to 21-0. Gibson allowed just seven hits and racked up 20 strikeouts in two games.
- Gibson also leads the Aggies offensively with a .348 average after losing top hitter and three-time all-Big 12 performer Amanda Scarborough (.447) to injury earlier in the season. Macie Morrow and Jamie Hinshaw own a .333 average for the Aggies, who hit .301 as a team.
- In the circle, A&M is led by Gibson's perfect record and 0.92 ERA. Freshman Rhiannon Kliesing has filled in admirably in Scarborough's absence, posting a 9-4 record and a 1.34 ERA.
- The Aggies hold a 27-5 edge in the all-time series, with ISU last winning in 2006 in A&M's last trip to Ames. The Cyclones beat the Aggies 14-6 in the first game of the doubleheader before the Aggies earned a split with a 7-0 win.
