Pulsawath Leads Cyclones to Fourth Place Finish

NORMAN, Okla. ? Iowa State sophomore Pennapa Pulsawath carded a career-low 218 to lead the Cyclone women's golf team to a fourth place finish at the 30th Susie Maxwell Berning Classic in Norman , Okla., on Monday. Pulsawath fired rounds of 75-71-72 en route to her second straight top-five finish and her fourth top-five effort of the season.
Oklahoma, playing on its home golf course, won the event with a 54-hole team total of 885, four strokes ahead of second place Arkansas-Little Rock. The Cyclones finished eight strokes back of third-place Kansas, which carded a team score of 898.
Pulsawath's 54-hole total of 218 breaks her previous career low of 219 she posted last weekend in Tucson, Ariz at the Mountain View Collegiate. ISU freshman Laurence Herman closed out the tournament on a strong note, carding a 74-75 during the last two rounds to finish in a tie for 34th. Victoria Stefansen also carded a career-low 54-hole total, as she tallied rounds of 77-73-80=230 to tie for 34th.
The Cyclones will take the next two weeks off to prepare for the Big 12 Championships at the end of the month. Iowa State will travel to the Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Okla., April 25-27. The championship format consists of a total of 54 holes with 18 holes played each day.
