Alison Lacey's full-court drive and conventional three-point play with four seconds left in the overtime win against regular-season conference champion Kansas State in the Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship quarterfinals has been nominated as one of the women's top four plays of the year by the league. Fans can vote at Big12sports.com to make it the top play of the year. Voting can be found at the bottom of league's homepage and will only be active for a few more days.
The winner of the fan poll for play of the year, as well as the winner of the Big 12 Game of the Year, will be revealed on the Big 12 Showcase June 27 and 28. The show will air on FSN Midwest at 2:30 p.m. (CT) Friday and 11 a.m. (CT) on Saturday. Iowa State's win over Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship semifinal game was a nominee for Big 12 Game of the Year as well.
Other nominees for play of the year include Kiara Redmond-Sturm's score of 9.95 as the final competitor in the final rotation of the Big 12 Gymnastics Championships to clinch the title. Texas goalkeeper Dianna Pfenninger registered the game-winning assist in the Big 12 Soccer Championship and Texas A&M's Kelsey Spittler's first hit of the Women's College World Series to defeat top-seed Florida in an elimination game.
